CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The Meantime Coffee Co. announced on Thursday, April 5 its new executive team for the 2018–2019 academic year. The cohort consists of five undergraduate students from various disciplines at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill—Öznur Ikiz, Claire Janda, Olivia Neal, and Jack Robertson—and will be led by Chief Executive Officer Hannah Hodge.
“The Meantime is entering a new phase of growth and development as we transition new leaders for the upcoming year,” said Hodge, a rising senior who has been a part of the organization since its opening in the Fall of 2016 and previously held the title of Head of Operations. “It brings me great excitement to think of what the new team will be able to learn and accomplish as we work to improve our current structures, think about potential expansions, and continue to emphasize our social mission.”
Head of Human Resources Öznur Ikiz is a rising Sophomore from Istanbul, Turkey studying Business Administration and Studio Art. “I am so happy to be a part of an organization of students who constantly uplift each other and are just so genuinely fun to be around,” said Ikiz, also a barista at The Meantime. “I can’t wait to see what the future holds for The Meantime and I am beyond honored to be able to serve our incredible team and the campus community.”
Head of Operations Claire Janda is a rising Sophomore from Bloomington, Indiana studying Political Science. Janda, who began working at The Meantime as a barista in the Fall of 2017, said, “This is an incredible opportunity to serve our fantastic team and campus community, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Head of Communications Olivia Neal hails from Greensboro, North Carolina. She is a rising Senior pursuing a joint degree in English and Women’s and Gender Studies. “I’m so excited to connect with the campus community and advance our social mission while showing my love for The Meantime,” Neal said.
A rising Junior from Charlotte, North Carolina, Head of Finance Jack Robertson studies Business Administration in the Kenan-Flagler Business School. Robertson is excited for the chance to identify and pursue growth opportunities for The Meantime while also helping its development into a long-term sustainable business.
The new team has already begun working part-time and will lead each respective department throughout the next academic year.
